Class of 2021 forward Daniel Nixon has committed to George Washington, he tells ZAGSBLOG.
“I will taking my talents to George Washington University,” Nixon said ahead of his announcement. “The coaching staff is amazing. They have been recruiting me for a long time and it feels like a family there.”
The 6-foot-7, 210-pound small forward from Winston-Salem (NC) Christian, chose George Washington over offers from Georgetown, East Carolina, Iowa and Ole Miss, among others.
“Coach Jamion Christian is a great coach and [he] cares about me on and off the court,” he said. “I also wanted to go to a great academic school as well and it was the right fit for me.”
Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 51 small forward in the Class of 2021, Nixon joins point guard Brayon Freeman and Tafara Gapare in George Washington’s 2021 class.
“One of the thing that impressed me the most about Daniel Nixon is that he is always in the gym working on crafting his game,” Winston Salem Christian head coach Antonio Lowe said. “He does a lot of work in the dark when know one is looking. He is a kid that stays after practice and late at night to get extra shots up.”
