Seth Towns expected to debut this week for Ohio State

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Harvard grad transfer Seth Towns will be a game-time decision for Ohio State against Notre Dame on Tuesday, Buckeyes coach Chris Holtmann told ZAGSBLOG.

Towns probably would have played Saturday, but Ohio State’s game with Alabama A&M was canceled. He will be evaluated during practice Saturday.

According to ESPN, Towns was ranked as the No. 1 grad transfer on the market this year. He chose Ohio State in March.

Towns missed the 2018-19 season with a knee injury and sat out last season while completely recovering and preparing to transfer.

During his freshman season, Towns averaged 12.3 points per game while shooting 42.8 percent from the floor and 38.8 percent from three-point range. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds and. 1.3 assists in 28 games played.

As a sophomore, Towns averaged 16 points per game while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from three-point range. He also added 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, going on to be named Ivy League Player of the Year.

He was named the Ivy League Player of the Year following the 2017-18 season and was a unanimous All-Ivy League first-team selection.
