Syracuse center Bourama Sidibe to miss four weeks after suffering torn meniscus

By JACOB POLACHECK

Syracuse senior center Bourama Sidibe suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee during the Orange’s season-opener against Bryant on Friday, the school announced.

Sidibe is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday.

Sidibe injured his knee early during Syracuse’s 85-84 win over Bryant on Friday. He left the game with 15 minutes and 37 seconds left in the first half and never returned.

The 6-foot-10, 218-pound center from St. Benedict’s (NJ) Prep, averaged 6.0 points and 7.6 rebounds last year for Syracuse.

According to Syracuse Associate Athletic Director for sports medicine Brad Pike, four weeks is a reasonable recovery estimate for this type of injury.
