Franck Kepnang will remain in Class of 2021 and won’t reclass

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Franck Kepnang, the 6-foot-11 center from Westtown School (PA) and the PSA Cardinals, will remain in the Class of 2021 and won’t reclassify to 2020, his guardian Mark Carter told ZAGSBLOG.

“Franck will be back at Westtown [for his senior season],” Carter said.

Carter had previously said the big man was “highly considering” reclassifying to 2020 from 2021.

Kepnang, the No. 8 center in 2021 per 247Sports.com, first broke the news to Stockrisers, telling the site he wanted to graduate with his class at Westtown.

“Definitely the pandemic impacted the decision,” Carter said. “We can’t get out to physically see schools.

“More importantly Franck has goals and No. 1 on that list is to physically walk across the stage and receive his high school diploma,” Carter added. “No. 2 [is to] win another state title with his brothers at Westtown.”

Kepnang currently holds offers from Kansas, Maryland, Georgetown, UConn, St. John’s, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Fordham, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Saint Louis, Stanford, Syracuse, Texas A&M, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest, among others.

He has recently had Zoom calls with St. John’s, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Miami, among others.
