Jeremy Sochan leaves La Lumiere, heads to Germany

By JACOB POLACHECK

Jeremy Sochan, the 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from La Lumiere (IN), is headed back to Europe to finish his high school career, he announced Wednesday via Twitter.

Sochan, a Poland native, will play with Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany, per 247Sports.com.

“Given the times that we are in and the uncertainty surrounding next year, me and my family felt like it’s best for me to stay in Europe to finish my high school education and to continue my basketball development closer to home,” Sochan said via Twitter.

Sochan played for the Poland U-16 team in the FIBA European Championships U16 B Division last August, averaging 16.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

According to 247Sports.com, Sochan is ranked as the No. 20 power forward and No. 97 overall player in the Class of 2021.

Sochan still intends to play college basketball and remain in the Class of 2021.

He recently told 247Sports he is being heavily pursued by Arizona, Baylor, Creighton, Kansas, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and Xavier.
