St. John’s no longer an option for Monmouth transfer Ray Salnave

By ADAM ZAGORIA

St. John’s is no longer an option for Monmouth grad transfer Ray Salnave.

Despite a recent push from head coach Mike Anderson and guard Rasheem Dunn, it turns out the Johnnies don’t have a scholarship available for the 6-foot-3 former Cardozo star. L.J. Figueroa is expected back on campus and the Johnnies don’t have a scholarship.

“Yeah, they’re out,” Salnave said by text. “Scholarship they thought they would have is a no go.”

Salnave is now considering DePaul and Loyola Marymount, and said he plans to decide on Wednesday.

Meantime, St. John’s continues to focus on Class of 2021 recruits including Jordan Riley and Franck Kepnang, among others.
