Silas Sunday is starting to receive high-major interest.
Sunday, the 7-foot center from Our Savior Lutheran School (NY), picked up his first offer from Kansas State on Friday.
“I know that they’re in the Big 12 and they won the conference last year,” Sunday told ZAGSBLOG. “They play a competitive schedule.”
While it may be early in Sunday’s recruitment, he is paying close attention to fit.
“I just want to go to a place that I can fit in and be myself,” Sunday said.
Sunday was born in Italy, but moved to Ireland as a child.
“I moved to the United States from Ireland when I was 14 years old,” Sunday said. “My little brother lives in Ireland, so during all this I’ve been playing video games with him a little bit, 2K, Call of Duty, etc.”
Sunday is rated as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2022, per 247Sports.com.
“I rebound the ball, run the floor, easy baskets and set screens,” Sunday said. “I can shoot the ball as well.”
With AAU season on hold during the coronavirus pandemic, Sunday has been working out from home.
“I run two miles every two days and I work out with my coach through google hangout,” he said. “I do sit ups, push ups and squats to stay in shape.”
Sunday also broke down the areas of his game that he’s most focused on improving:
“I want to be an elite rebounder,” he said. “I also want to shoot more and be an elite scorer as well. I’m working on my defense.”
