Seton Hall on Thursday officially announced the signing of Missouri transfer Tray Jackson, who committed on Monday.
Jackson, a 6-foot-8 combo forward out of Detroit, appeared in 26 games last season and averaged 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. He will sit the 2020-21 season (unless a waiver is granted) and then have three years of eligibility.
“We’d like to welcome Tray and his family to the Seton Hall basketball family,” Pirates coach Kevin Willard said. “Tray is very versatile on offense and will give us a lot of different options. He is strong and can get to the basket, and he is a very capable three-point shooter. We’re looking forward to working with him on continuing his development and preparing him to compete for us in 2021.”
Jackson initially committed to Minnesota out of Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) before then choosing Mizzou over Seton Hall in the fall of 2018.
Jackson is considered a talented player with looming questions about his conditioning, motor and effort.

Pirates coach Kevin Willard is known for coaching players up and getting the most out of them, so he has obviously decided Jackson is worth the scholarship.
Seton Hall last week officially announced the addition of Harvard grad transfer Bryce Aiken, the Randolph, N.J. native who committed April 9.
The Pirates are also losing three players to transfer: sophomore guard Anthony Nelson, junior forward Taurean Thompson and sophomore forward Darnell Brodie, who committed to Drake.
Junior forward Sandro Mamukelashvili is testing the NBA Draft waters.
The Pirates are also involved for reclassifying Patrick School power forward Adama Sanogo, who is also considering Pitt, Maryland, Nebraska and others in addition to Seton Hall. He is not expected to decide until later this spring or summer.
Seton Hall now has 11 players on scholarship and has one more to use. They have a total of 12 available for 2020-21.
