VCU transfer Marcus Santos-Silva cuts list to six

By ADAM ZAGORIA

VCU graduate transfer Marcus Santos-Silva has cut his list to six schools, his father told ZAGSBLOG.

The 6-foot-7 Santos-Silva is down to Georgia, Maryland, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Penn State and Arizona State, and will conduct virtual tours and Zoom meetings with all six. More than 40 schools initially reached out.

The list could change if other schools get involved — Kentucky on Thursday missed out on 7-foot-3 Purdue grad transfer Matt Haarms to BYU. Santos-Silva has no timetable on a decision, sources said.

Santos-Silva averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds last season at VCU, and will be immediately eligible in 2020-21.
