Syracuse’s Elijah Hughes to remain in NBA Draft

By JACOB POLACHECK

Syracuse junior forward Elijah Hughes will remain in the 2020 NBA draft, he told ZAGSBLOG Monday. Stadium’s Jeff Goodman was the first to report the news.

“Thank you orange nation from the bottom of my heart,” Hughes tweeted Monday.

Hughes is ranked by ESPN as the No. 48 best available prospect in the 2020 Draft.

As a junior last season, Hughes averaged 19.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game in 32 games played.

He finished the season as the ACC’s leading scorer and was named to the All-ACC First Team.

A redshirt junior, Hughes would have one more year of eligibility at Syracuse if he wanted to use it. If he wanted to return to college, he had until June 15 to decide.

He is the only starter that Syracuse is expected to lose before next season
