North Carolina’s Cole Anthony declares for NBA Draft

By ADAM ZAGORIA

North Carolina freshman point guard Cole Anthony declared for the NBA Draft on Friday.

Anthony is signing with Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, a source said.

The 6-foot-3 New York City native and son of former NBA point guard Greg Anthony is currently projected as the No. 13 pick to the Portland Trail Blazers, per ESPN.com.

Anthony averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists this year, earning him ACC third-team honors.

He missed 11 games for the Tar Heels because he underwent surgery for a partial meniscus tear.

Anthony began his high school career at Archbishop Molloy in New York before spending his senior season at Oak Hill Academy (VA) where he played with fellow New York native, Kofi Cockburn, who has also declared for the draft.
