The good news keeps rolling in for Arizona State and head coach Bobby Hurley.
Less than 24 hours after the Sun Devils landed five-star Class of 2020 guard Josh Christopher, Hurley’s group scored a commitment from transferring Ohio State sophomore guard Luther Muhammad, a native of Newark, N.J. Hurley is a New Jersey legend who played for his father, Naismith Hall of Famer Bob Hurley, at St. Anthony’s, leading the school to the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title in 1989.
The 6-foot-3 Muhammad and former Hudson Catholic (N.J.) standout chose the Sun Devils over Seton Hall, UCLA, West Virginia and New Mexico.
“I picked ASU because I believe coach Hurley’s a great coach,” Muhammad told 247Sports “He wants and lets his guards create a lot, and is a very intense coach that demands the best out of his guys.”

Muhammad will sit the 2020-21 season per NCAA rules and then have two years of eligibility unless he receives a waiver.
“I fit into their system because, they play tough pressure defense, an uptempo, NBA style offense,” he said.

ZAGSBLOG first reported April 5 that Arizona State was his “preferred destination.”
Muhammad averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 30 games last season.
Christopher is a projected one-and-done, so Muhammad can slide in beginning 2021-22 and contribute immediately.
