Wagner coach Bashir Mason has added a valuable piece in Elijah Allen, the Delaware State Player of the Year and the Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard from Dover High School committed on Wednesday, choosing Wagner over offers from Howard, Alabama A&M, Delaware State, Southern Utah, Caldwell and St. Michael’s.
“What made me choose Wagner was that they made me and my support system feel comfortable and knowing that we could trust and believe in the coaching staff,” he said.

Allen averaged 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals last season and is Dover’s all-time leading scorer with 1,541 career points. He ran with the Cecil Kirk-Team Puma club on the summer circuit.
“I will bring leadership, a winning attitude, shooting the ball and playmaking.”
Allen joins Delonnie Hunt, a 6-foot point guard from Rock Creek Christian in Wagner’s 2020 class. He averaged 14.8 points, 5.7 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals last season.
