Rhody transfer Tyrese Martin down to a final five

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Rhode Island transfer Tyrese Martin is down to a final five schools.

The 6-foot-6 guard is down to UConn, Georgia, Oregon, Ole Miss and Seton Hall, according to Jon Rothstein. Martin initially committed to current UConn coach Dan Hurley when Hurley was at Rhode Island in September 2017.

He broke down his options for ZAGSBLOG:

Oregon: “They love me and have a vision for me and my future.”

Georgia: “A vision to play a crucial role to the program as soon as I get to campus.

Seton Hall: “They expect me to have an impact when it’s time to play and not far from home.”

Ole Miss: “Beautiful campus, coaches love me, dominant role.”

UConn: “Great relationship with Hurley, impactful role.”

He said he’s trying to decide “within the next couple of days.”

Martin averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds last season at Rhody.

The Rams have since replenished with their own transfers, including Malik Martin (Charlotte) and the Mitchell twins (Maryland), who will suit up in December.
