Auburn’s Isaac Okoro to test NBA Draft waters

By JACOB POLACHECK

Auburn freshman forward Isaac Okoro will declare for the NBA Draft and go through the pre-draft evaluation process, head coach Bruce Pearl told reporters Friday.

In his one season at Auburn, Okoro averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 29.0 percent from three, while making SEC All-Defense, SEC All-Freshman and second-team All-SEC.

If Okoro goes through the process and learns he will be a lottery pick as many expect, Pearl says he will advise the freshman to leave Auburn and leave his name in the draft.

He is currently ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2020 Draft on ESPN’s Big Board.

If Okoro decides to keep his name in the draft, he would be the first one-and-done player in program history.
