Kansas finishes ranked No. 1 in final AP Top 25 poll of the season

By JACOB POLACHECK

With the NCAA Tournament and power conference postseason tournaments canceled, the Associated Press released their final college basketball Top 25 poll of the season, with the Kansas Jayhawks at the top spot.

Kansas head coach Bill Self said in a media teleconference Monday that his team had the best season in college basketball this year.

“Everyone can make their own case for their own season but nobody in America had a better season than we did,” Self said during a media teleconference Monday.

Kansas received 63 of a possible 65 first-place votes in the final poll of the season.

In the latest poll, Gonzaga stayed at the No. 2 spot, while Dayton, Florida State and Baylor all held at the Nos. 3-5 spots.

The only change inside the top 10 from a week ago is Villanova moving up to No. 10 and Duke dropping one spot down to No. 11.
