Creighton star Marcus Zegarowski questionable for Big East Tournament

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Creighton star Marcus Zegarowski is questionable for this week’s Big East Tournament, head coach Greg McDermott said Monday.

Zegarowski injured his right knee in Sunday’s 77-60 win over Seton Hall that clinched the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. Zegarowski went for 23 points with five 3-pointers in the game.

“Still no update at this time,” McDermott said Monday. “I think we have an MRI scheduled for later this morning which will tell us a little bit more but no update at this time and really no idea whether he’ll be able to play Thursday.”

The 6-foot-2 sophomore is averaging 16.2 points and 3.8 rebounds.

At noon Thursday, the top-seeded Bluejays will play the winner of Wednesday’s game between No. 8 Georgetown and No. 9 St. John’s.
