Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, the 6-foot-7, 205-pound Class of 2020 wing from Orangeville Prep, took his official visit to Oklahoma State Jan. 26-28 and next visits Georgetown Feb. 4-6.
“Their message to me was if I came in, they’re going to be expecting a lot with all of their seniors in my position leaving,” he said of Oklahoma State. “They laid out a blueprint of how they plan on using me at the three spot with Cade [Cunningham] and Ice [Isaac Likekele]. They preach development there and told me it could be a great option for me in terms of NBA talks.
“Also their message was we could be one of the best defensive teams in the country with all length and athleticism on the floor.”

Per ESPN.com, Cunningham is the projected No. 1 pick in 2021 and Likekele is No. 51. Moncrieffe, meantime, is currently projected at No. 37 in ’22 by NBADraftRoom.com.
Moncrieffe previously said he spoke to Cowboys assistant Erik Pastrana “every day.”
As for Georgetown’s message, he said at the Hoophall Classic, “They obviously had a tough go early on this season with a lot of players leaving [four transferred]. Same thing, I could come in at that three spot and start right away. Coach [Pat] Ewing is no-nonsense, a big yeller. I love that program, they’ve been recruiting me for a while now, since Grade 11 or 10.”
Moncrieffe also visited Seton Hall in November and may trip to St. John’s and/or South Carolina going forward.
