Micah Peavy, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Duncanville (TX), announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Monday, via Twitter. He took an official visit to Texas Tech in late August.
“I felt most comfortable with the coaching staff and the players,” Peavy told ESPN. “I felt that coach [Chris] Beard and I shared the same goals for my future. I feel like Tech will prepare me for what I want to do, which is to play in the NBA.
Peavy chose Texas Tech after taking official visits to Florida, TCU and Texas. He joins Chibuzo Agbo Jr. as the second commit in the Red Raiders’ 2020 class.
Playing with Pro Skills on the Nike EYBL Circuit this past spring and summer, Peavy averaged 20.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
According to 247Sports, Peavy is ranked as the No. 43 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 2 player from the state of Texas.
