Zion Williamson walking with crutch at Pelicans season-opener

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Zion Williamson is walking around on one crutch after undergoing surgery on his right meniscus on Monday.

He entered the building for the Pelicans home opener Friday night hobbling on one crutch. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound rookie out of Duke is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Williamson was the prohibitive favorite to win NBA Rookie of the Year honors prior to the surgery, but now Memphis’ Ja Morant is the favorite.
