Sharife Cooper to Auburn

By JACOB POLACHECK

Sharife Cooper, the 6-foot point guard from McEachern (GA), announced his commitment to Auburn on Friday, as first reported by 247Sports.

Cooper’s decision comes on the first evening of his official visit to Auburn. Five-star guard Jalen Green is also on an official visit to Auburn this weekend.

According to 247Sports, Cooper is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in the Class of 2020 and the No. 2 ranked point guard. He joins Justin Powell as the second commit in Auburn’s 2020 class.

Cooper chose Auburn over schools such as Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, UCLA and Maryland, among others.

Playing for AOT on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, Cooper averaged 25.3 points, 8.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 18 league games.

Auburn remains involved for several elite 2020 prospects including Green and Roselle (N.J.) Catholic big man Cliff Omoruyi.
