North Carolina head coach Roy Williams spent the last two days focused on trying to land a backcourt of the future.
Williams was at White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac on Wednesday to see senior point guard R.J. Davis, who has a final four of UNC, Georgetown, Marquette
“They’re trying to recruit two guards because obviously Cole [Anthony] is projected to go to the NBA, so they’re looking for two guards to come in and play alongside each other,” Davis told me Monday when Georgetown and Pittsburgh had their full staffs in for him. “They’re recruiting Cade Cunningham and Caleb Love. I know they feel that was a downfall last year with Coby White being their only point guard, to have two guards next year.”
