Surgery was deemed to be the best course of treatment for Coach Hurley to alleviate symptoms of degenerative changes in the cervical spine. The recovery period is not expected to affect his participation in the Huskies’ official practices, which begin on Sept. 28, as they prepare for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Roger Hartl and his team at the Center for Comprehensive Spine Care in New York City.
Coach Hurley’s recuperation will be monitored by his personal physicians
