Evan Mobley to USC

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Evan Mobley, the 6-foot-11 big man from Rancho Christian (CA) High School, committed to USC on Monday.

His father, Eric, is an assistant coach with the Trojans.

Mobley is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 player in the Class of 2019. He is a projected top-5 NBA Draft pick in 2021, according to at least one mock.

“Evan is a positionless 7-footer who excels on both sides of the ball,” Etop Udo-Ema, his coach with the Compton Magic, told ZAGSBLOG. “He is 7-foot with a 7-5 wingspan and a 40-inch vertical. You do the math on those measurements. His upside is endless with no ceiling.”

His brother, Isaiah, who participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game in March, will be a freshman at USC this fall.

“My brother is there, my dad is the assistant coach,” he told ZAGSBLOG this summer. “It’s a great program. They have a great coach.”

Mobley broke down the skillset he will bring to a college program:

“I usually go inside-out,” he said. “I can stretch the floor, go around the bigs if they’re too slow, post-up on the smaller guys. I’m very versatile.”

The news was first reported by ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.
