Remember those heady days when the Knicks dreamed of featuring Anthony Davis alongside Kevin Durant, and maybe Kyrie Irving too?
It seemed like just yesterday that the Knicks were in position to land Durant and Irving in free agency, while also trading “assets” for Davis. If the Knicks had landed the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, they could have potentially packaged the pick — otherwise known as Zion Williamson — along with younger players like Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson and future draft picks for Davis.
Then they could have made an even bigger splash by introducing Durant and Irving at a massive press conference this summer.
Now that all seems about as likely Cercei Lannister agreeing to share control of the Seven Kingdoms with the Dragon Queen.
