Bracketology: Virginia, Duke, Tennessee, Gonzaga are the 1 seeds; Seton Hall, St. John’s are 10 seeds

By ADAM ZAGORIA

The No. 1 seeds remain the same in the latest CBSSports.com bracketology, while several Big East teams are making it interesting going down to the wire.

The 1 seeds are currently Virginia (East), Duke (South), Gonzaga (West) and Tennessee (Midwest), per Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com.

Michigan (East), Kentucky (South), LSU (West) and North Carolina (Midwest) are the 2s.

That makes three ACC and three SEC teams each among the top eight seeds, with one Big Ten team and one WAC squad.

Palm has Big East outfits Seton Hall and St. John’s both as 10 seeds and told me St. John’s is definitely in with six Q-1 wins while Seton Hall is a “maybe.” ESPN’s Joe Lunardi list the Pirates among his”Last 4 In.”

Seton Hall scored a huge win Wednesday night, riding an 18-0 run to a 73-64 win over No. 16 Marquette.

Seton Hall closes the season Saturday at home against Villanova, while St. John’s travels to Xavier. Both would finish 8-10 in the league with losses, and the last Big East to make the Big Dance at 8-10 was UConn in 2012.

The Big East Tournament begins Wednesday.
