Barack Obama expected to attend North Carolina-Duke on Wednesday

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Barack Obama is expected to take in the North Carolina-Duke game on Wednesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Obama is a big North Carolina fan, but will also get to see Duke freshman sensation Zion Williamson up close and in person, just as LeBron James did last week during the Virginia game.

“I love him,” Carolina coach Roy Williams said Monday of Obama. “But if he’s coming to the game, I’m sorry Mr. President but I’m not going to be looking at you.

“And I do love him. I though he was great for our country, but during that game it’s ‘Frankly,
my dear.'”

Williams has not been shy of criticizing President Trump, saying in 2017,  “Our president tweets out more bullshit than anybody I’ve ever seen. We’ve got social media.”

As ChapelBoro.com pointed out, Obama picked North Carolina to win the NCAA title three times during his tenure, and was proven correct in 2017 and 2009.

He also scrimmaged with the Carolina basketball team in 2008 and visited the campus to speak during Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016, per ChapelBoro.com.

As for Williamson, “The Zion Effect” has triggered more fans to come from further away to see Duke home and away games.

James was highly impressed when he saw the 6-foot-7, 285-pound Williamson against Virginia.

“What strikes me?” he told ESPN. “His agility and his quicknesss. For his size, how strong he is, to be able to move like the way he moves, he’s very impressive.”
