Gerald Drumgoole to Pittsburgh

By JACOB POLACHECK

Gerald Drumgoole, the 6-foot-6 small forward from La Lumiere (IN) School, announced his commitment to Pittsburgh on Monday, via Twitter. Drumgoole took his official visit to Pittsburgh on February 8.

“As I continue to live my dream, I want to attend a school where I can help the team and develop into the best basketball player and can possibly be,” said Drumgoole in a statement released via Twitter. “So with that being said… I am proud to announce that I will be attending the University of Pittsburgh.”

Drumgoole chose Pittsburgh over schools such as Maryland, South Carolina, Minnesota, Albany, Buffalo, Old Dominion, Rhode Island, Stony Brook, Temple, and Toledo, among others. In addition to Pittsburgh, Drumgoole also took official visits to Maryland (Sept. 21), South Carolina (Sept. 28), and Minnesota (Nov. 3).

He becomes the first commit in Pittsburgh’s 2019 class.

According to 247Sports, Drumgoole is ranked as the No. 116 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 27 small forward in the class.
