James Wiseman, Cole Anthony, Vernon Carey, Isaiah Stewart highlight ESPN high school hoops schedule

The 2018-2019 GEICO ESPN High School Basketball Showcase will feature 11 games across ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU from November to February. The schedule will highlight 13 of country’s top programs, including the top seven ranked teams. The slate will include 37 combined ranked players in the ESPN 100 (’19), ESPN 60 (’20) and ESPN 25 (’21), including recruits who have committed to Arizona, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, USC and Villanova.

Friday, Jan. 11, on ESPN2, the two highest ranked players in the junior and senior classes face off, as No. 1 Evan Mobley (2020) and Rancho Christian (Cal.) visit No. 1 James Wiseman (2019) and Memphis East (Tenn.). Then, on Saturday, Feb. 2, on ESPNU No. 1 Montverde (Fla.) will face No. 3 Oak Hill (Va.). It will be the first time these two prestigious programs and former GEICO Nationals champions will meet during the “regular season,” outside of GEICO Nationals tournament play.

As part of the slate, ESPN and ESPNU will air five games from the HoopHall Classic from Springfield, Mass., on Sunday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 21, all of which will feature Top 25 team matchups.

Additionally, ESPN+ will stream thirteen games from the HoopHall West in Scottsdale, Ariz. on December 7-8, and the HoopHall Classic in Springfield, Mass., Saturday, Jan. 19. ESPN+ is the direct-to-consumer sports video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) and ESPN.

·        Top 5 Recruits in the Class of 2019: No. 1 James Wiseman (Memphis East, Tenn.), No. 2 Cole Anthony (Oak Hill, Va.), No. 3 Vernon Cary Jr. (NSU University School, Fla.), No. 4 Isaiah Stewart (La Lumiere, Ind.) No. 5 Jaden McDaniels (Federal Way, Wash.)
