R.J. Hampton, the 6-foot-4, 170-pound point guard from Little Elm (TX), used his second official visit to Kentucky this past weekend for Big Blue Madness.
The list of teams hot on his trail includes Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, and Texas.
“Pretty much come to Kentucky and compete with and against the best in the country on the biggest stage in the country,” said Hampton’s father, Rod on Kentucky’s pitch. “And [John Calipari] also said everybody isn’t built for Kentucky. The practices were very competitive and everyone is held accountable to compete and get better.”
“They have all the resources for you to get better on a daily basis,” he said. “They are truly an elite college basketball program. Coach Cal does a great job with his guys. And he has a track record of getting guys to the next level.”
According to 247Sports, Hampton is a five-star who is ranked as the No. 6 player nationally, and is the No. 1 prospect from Texas.
