By ADAM ZAGORIA

Qudus Wahab, the 6-foot-10, 230-pound center from Flint Hill (VA) School, took his first official visit to UConn this weekend.

“They think I can come and have an impact right away,” Wahab said. “They see a lot of similarities between Emeka Okafor and me. And they think I can be next.”

Wahab has already established a bond with coach Dan Hurley.

“Coach Hurley is a really cool man and I believe he is great at what he does,” Wahab said.

Wahab visited the same weekend as 6-9 power forward Akok Akok of Putnam Science (CT), and the staff believes the two bigs could coexist.

“Yes, we were together a couple of times,” Wahab said. “I think we can play together

Wahab will next visit Virginia Tech (Oct. 19-21), Georgetown (Oct. 26-28), Pittsburgh (Nov. 2-4) and Syracuse (Nov. 9-11).
