Tray Jackson, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Detroit and Sunrise Christian (KS), committed to Minnesota on Monday.
He also considered Michigan State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Purdue, he told 247Sports.com.
“Really I’ve been on plenty of visits and enough to know what I like, I just got a really good vibe from the coaching staff and the players,” Jackson told 247.
“I went around campus and I loved the campus. I love the support the sports gets, it’s really some of the best country.”
Jackson averaged 13.3 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL circuit.
“He’s a prototypical position-less wing who is versatile on both ends,” said Sunrise Christian coach Achoki Moikobu. “He has an elite burst for a player with his size. He measures well across the board and could play anywhere in the country.”
He is Minnesota’s first 2019 commit.
