KJ Adams, the 6-foot-6 small forward from St. Andrew’s (TX) Episcopal School, received an offer from Baylor on Sunday, he announced via Twitter. He broke down the offer for ZAGSBLOG Monday.
“Their coach [Scott Drew] has been there for 8-10 years now and he’ll probably be there when it’s time to make my decision,” said Adams. “It’s a really nice school and put together very well.”
In addition to Baylor, Adams also holds offers from schools such as Texas, Texas A&M, and TCU.
“I think that’s basically all the schools in Texas that I was really looking to receive an offer from,” said Adams. “I don’t expect any other offers from Texas schools.”
Adams also spoke about potential upcoming visits.
“I think I want to visit Stanford and Arizona, but it probably won’t be for a while,” he said.
Although he won’t graduate high school until 2021, Adams is already taking into account what he’s looking for in a school when deciding where to commit.
“I want to go to a school that will just let me be me,” he said. “I don’t want them to try and limit my abilities as a player. I want a coach that understands me and lets me play free. Whether playing at the wing or the point guard position, I don’t want to be limited.”
