Gianni Hunt, the 6-foot-2 point guard from Bishop Montgomery (CA) High School, announced his commitment to Oregon State on Tuesday via Twitter.
“I appreciate all the time and effort that each college has put in towards recruiting me,” said Hunt via Twitter. “Lastly, I want to thank my Bishop Montgomery family for taking me in my freshman year and show nothing but love and support since. With no further words I would like to announce that I am 100% committed to Oregon State University. #GoBeavs!”
According to 247Sports, Hunt is ranked as the No. 179 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 17 player from the state of California. He joins Jarod Lucas and Julien Franklin as the third commit in the Beavers’ 2019 class.
Playing with the Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Hunt averaged 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, in 16 regular season games played. The Soldiers finished with a 10-6 regular season record and an appearance in Peach Jam.
In five games at Peach Jam, Hunt averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals per game, in five games, as the Soldiers finished with a 4-1 record.
