Aundre Hyatt sets official to Rutgers, still weighing reclass decision

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Aundre Hyatt, the 6-foot-6, 215-pound small forward from the Miller (VA) School and Boo Williams, will take an official visit to Rutgers this Thursday-Saturday, he told ZAGSBLOG.

“Rutgers just wants me to jump in and enjoy the program,” he said recently. “They said they’ll take me in either ’18 or ’19. It doesn’t matter. They just want a shooter.”

Hyatt, who was originally in the Class of 2018 before reclassifying to 2019, is still weighing whether to return to 2018. He could also enroll in college for 2018-19 and redshirt this season.

“I’ve been thinking about red-shirting to develop my body and get a better feel for college basketball,” he added.

Several other schools remain in the mix for Hyatt, including Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, LSU and Florida State.

Wherever he goes, he plans to be a “three-level scorer, either at the two or the three,” he said. “I feel like I’ll be a defensive presence because I’ve been working at it pretty hard. And just a team player.”
