Puma has signed NBA Draft prospects from four top agencies

By ADAM ZAGORIA

With the addition of Michael Porter Jr. to its stable, Puma has now signed NBA Draft prospects from four powerhouse agencies.

Porter (Priority Sports), Deandre Ayton (BDA Sports), Marvin Bagley III (Excel) and Zhaire Smith (Roc Nation) represent four of the top agencies in basketball. Puma also on Wednesday announced the signing of current NBA player Rudy Gay (Roc Nation).

“Smart strategy,” one industry source said. “You enter a new market and butter all the bread. Those four agencies combined make up a ton of the league.”

Puma ushered in a new era on Monday when it announced the signings of Ayton and Bagley, the top two projected picks per the latest ESPN mock.

Porter is projected at No. 8 and Smith at No. 19.

Puma, which hasn’t featured an NBA player since Vince Carter 20 years ago, also announced that Jay-Z would serve as the company’s creative director
