Ashton Hagans closing in on reclassification to Kentucky for 2018

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Ashton Hagans is closing in on his reclassification to Kentucky for 2018.

The 6-foot-4 point guard from Newton (GA) is taking classes and hopes to join Kentucky this summer for their August trip to the Bahamas.

“Just be on the lookout,” he told Kyle Tucker of SECCountry.com. “Tell them I’m coming. Coming soon.”

Hagans needed to complete four online courses and should be done by late May or early June.

“He’s got to do some reading when we get home,” Marvin Hagans, the player’s father, told SECCountry.com. “I think he’ll be done with the class around the end of [May], first of June. Just gotta pass it. The other grades are in.”

Hagans was working out with fellow Kentucky commit E.J. Montgomery, the 6-10 McDonald’s All-Ameircan big man who is headed to Kentucky this year, along with Immanuel Quickley, Keldon Johnson and Tyler Herro. Hagans would make it five recruits this year for John Calipari.

“I saw the players they had coming in this year and I was talking to my dad,” Hagans said. “I told him, ‘I would love to play with each one of them guys.’ ”
