Duke commit Joey Baker reclassifies to 2018

By SEAN BOCK

Joey Baker, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Trinity Christian School (NC), will join Duke early and reclassify to the 2018 class, according to 247Sports.

“The coaching staff and my family thought it was the best decision for myself,” Baker told ZAGSBLOG. “I’ll be able to compete in practice against the best and play alongside them as well. Potentially a shooter role.”

Baker, a five-star recruit, will join a loaded incoming freshman class with R.J. Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish, and Tre Jones.

According to 247Sports, Baker is the No. 27 player in the 2019 class and the No. 7 prospect at his position.
