Eric Dixon, the 2019 power forward from Abington (PA) High School, has committed to Villanova, he announced on Tuesday.
“[It came down to] off the court stuff really,” Dixon told ZAGSBLOG Tuesday. “In terms of how I want things to be in 10-15 years. I really like the culture there.”
Dixon chose Villanova over Louisville, Seton Hall, and Virginia.
“I like their play style and they can help me with the aspects of my game that I’m not good at,” Dixon told ZAGSBLOG of the Wildcats. “They can make my strengths stronger, and obviously, they win a lot.”
Dixon is the first member of the 2019 class for Villanova and Jay Wright. The Wildcats are also pursuing five-star prospects Bryan Antoine, Scottie Lewis, Cole Anthony and Joe Girard, among others, to join Dixon in the 2019 class.
“Villanova is all about winning and being unselfish,” said Dixon. “They place a high emphasis on trusting in your teammates, working together, and playing for one another.”
According to 247Sports, Dixon is ranked as the No. 114 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 3 player from the state of Pennsylvania.
“I’m excited to work hard and become a better person, player, and student,” he said.
