Ashton Hagans, the 6-foot-4 point guard from Newton (GA), received an offer from Kentucky on Thursday, Game Elite 2019 coach Chris Williams told ZAGSBLOG
“We would love for Kentucky to recruit him along with everybody else,” Marvin Hagans, Ashton’s father, told the Louisville Courier-Journal last week. “I mean, who wouldn’t? John Calipari — any and everybody would say he knows what he’s doing. But we’re wide open to everybody and we’re not going to rush anything.”
Hagans, who is considering reclassifying to the 2018 class, decommitted from Georgia from February and has been reeling in offers and interests from a slew of high-major programs.
Arizona and Wichita State visited Hagans recently and newly hired Louisville coach Chris Mack offered as soon as he took over earlier this week.
North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio State, Marquette, Providence, Georgetown, Florida State, Maryland and Arizona State are among some of the other schools who have reached out to Hagans since he opened his recruitment.
Kentucky has five-star guards Keldon Johnson and Immanuel Quickley in its 2018 class – both McDonald’s All-Americans- along with four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro, who will participate in the Jordan Brand Classic.
Marvin Hagans continues to say that his son’s recruitment is wide open at this point.
According to 247Sports, Hagans is the No. 8 player and No. 1 point guard in the class of 2019.
