LiAngelo Ball declares for NBA Draft

By SEAN BOCK

LiAngelo Ball has declared for the 2018 NBA Draft, his agent, Harrison Gaines, told Yahoo Sports.

Ball and his younger brother, LaMelo, played professionally in Lithuania with Vytautas Prienu since he left UCLA in December after a shoplifting scandal in China.

LiAngelo and LaMelo – whose older brother, Lonzo, plays for the Los Angeles Lakers – signed one-year contracts with Vytautas in January.

According to the report, LiAngelo is expected to work out for several NBA teams when the season overseas is over and will participate in the Pro Basketball Combine at IMG Academy (FL) in May in front of team executives

A 6-foot-5 guard/forward, LiAngelo leads the Lithuanian first division league in scoring at 15.7 points per game and is shooting 45 percent from 3-point land.

Asked if LiAngelo was an NBA prospect in December, one NBA executive simply said, “No.”

A second NBA scout said, “I don’t think he’s considered a prospect.”
