Allonzo Trier ruled eligible for Arizona

Arizona junior guard Allonzo Trier was ruled eligible to play Thursday night against Stanford.

On Feb. 22, Trier was ruled ineligible by the NCAA after testing positive for a banned substance.

“We just received word that Allonzo Trier has been cleared for participation and will play in tonight’s game versus Stanford,” Arizona said in a statement. “We appreciate the NCAA granting this appeal and their understanding of this unique situation.”

Trier is currently projected as the No. 46 pick in the NBA Draft, per ESPN.com.

Arizona coach Sean Miller will also coach for the Wildcats after missing the Oregon game in the wake of the Deandre Ayton / ESPN report. Arizona said Miller would remain the coach going forward.
