Ashton Hagans decommits from Georgia

By SEAN BOCK

With Georgia coach Mark Fox on the hot set seat, Ashton Hagans, the 6-foot-4 point guard from Newton (GA), has decommitted from Georgia.

“He’s opening up his recruitment, but he’s also considering Georgia in the new future,” Game Elite coach Chris Williams told 247.

Hagans committed to the Bulldogs on Dec. 21 over Florida State, Kentucky, Auburn and Georgia Tech among others.

“He’s not all the way backing (out),” Hagans’ father Marvin Hagans told Rivals. “We just need to figure out what’s going on. Georgia is still at the top. We just don’t want to go into a situation that we didn’t sign up for.”

According to 247Sports, Hagans is the No. 8 player in the 2019 class and the No. 1 point guard.
