Savior Akuwovo, the 6-foot-9 big man from Ranney (N.J.), has committed to Howard, he announced Monday evening on MadeHoops.
“I chose Howard University because I wanted to attend a school with rich academic history,” Akuwovo told MadeHoops. “I wanted to go somewhere I can compete and play as a freshman. I will also be able to play a great non-conference schedule. Lastly, I wanted to be a part of change and I see that here.”
Akuwovo is the fourth member of head coach Kevin Nickelberry’s 2018 recruiting class and chose the Bison over St. Peter’s, Robert Morris and Monmouth.
“Savior has been a phenomenal addition to the Ranney community,” Ranney coach Tahj Holden said. “Defensively, he’s an anchor for our team. He’s also a tremendous rebounder. Not only has he helped us on the court, but his off the court contributions have been equally, if not more so impressive.”
