Charles Bassey, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Aspire Academy (KY), continued to build his résumé by earning MVP honors at the Basketball Without Borders camp in Los Angeles.
The Nigerian native impressed NBA players and scouts alike at the camp.

Ranked the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2019 by ESPN.com, Bassey is being recruited by Kansas, UCLA, Cal, Wake Forest, and Western Kentucky, according to his guardian Hennssy Auriantal. Bassey also reportedly took an unofficial visit to UNLV in the days leading up to the BWB camp along with forward Joel Ntambwe, who committed to UNLV on Saturday.
“Different schools talk to my parents and stuff like that,” Bassey told the Courier Journal. “My parents just let me know which schools.”
Bassey will likely play AAU ball this summer in Texas with Yes II Success.
“We’ll see how he feels during the summer,” Auriantal said. “Recruiting, you can’t put a timetable. He might feel it today. It’s the interest. He’s got to see those coaches coming in, talk to them.”
