The four projected No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament are dominated by upperclassmen and don’t have a single one-and-done prospect among them.
Virginia, Villanova, Purdue and Xavier are the projected No. 1 seeds in Joe Lunardi’s latest Mock NCAA Tournament Bracket released Thursday.
That would give the Big East two No. 1 seeds. Villanova figures to fall from its No. 1 perch in the AP Poll following Wednesday’s loss to St. John’s. Xavier was ranked No. 5 this week.
Per Lunardi, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Duke and Kansas are the 2 seeds.
The 3 seeds feature Tennessee, Clemson, Texas Tech and Auburn.
The 4s are Ohio State, West Virginia, Arizona and North Carolina.
The ACC has nine projected teams in the Big Dance, the SEC has eight and the Big 12 seven. The Big East is down to six. The Big Ten and Pac-12 have four apiece.
From the tri-state area, Seton Hall, Wagner and Rider are in.
The last four in are Washington, NC State, Houston and USC. The first four out are Syracuse, Marquette, UCLA and Nebraska. But that came before UCLA beat Arizona Thursday night.
