Miami’s Bruce Brown out for six weeks with foot injury

By SEAN BOCK

Miami sophomore guard Bruce Brown Jr. will undergo surgery Thursday after sustaining a left-foot injury Monday in practice, the school announced Tuesday. He’s expected to be out for six weeks.

Brown is the second-leading scorer for the Hurricanes averaging 11.4 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounds (7.1), assists (4.0), and steals (1.7).

Miami (15-5, 4-4 ACC) is coming off a 103-94 overtime loss at Florida State on Jan. 27. The Hurricanes next matchup will be at home against Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

In the latest ESPN mock draft, Brown is projected to go 20th overall to the Washington Wizards.
