Moses Brown, the 7-foot-2 senior big man from Archbishop Molloy High School, has committed to UCLA, he announced via Slam Monday afternoon.

A five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, Brown choose the Bruins over Florida State, Maryland, and Kentucky among others. Though he was considering Kentucky, head coach John Calipari never offered.
Brown took an official visit to Westwood on Oct. 27 and also made official visits to Maryland and Florida State.
“UCLA is a really good school, I love their campus,” he said at the HoopHall Classic earlier this month. “And I like the conference that they’re in.”
Brown is the fourth member of UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class which includes four-star guards Jules Bernard and David Singleton and three-star center Kenneth Nwuba.
UCLA isn’t done, either. Tyger Campbell takes an official there later this week and Jordan Brown, another McDonald’s All-American, also took an official there.
Also, even with Deandre Ayton headed to the NBA after this year, the Pac-12 will have its share of athletic 7-footers next year in Moses Brown and Oregon’s Bol Bol.
“We’re thrilled for him that he’s made his decision; he seems to be very happy,” Molloy head coach Mike McCleary said. “We expect it to be a great place for him and we wish him nothing but the best.”
He added: “He’s very mobile. In the Pac-12, they need big guys who can move and he moves fantastic. He catches everything you throw to him. Great hands, he’s becoming a very good finisher, not just around the rim, but in the lane itself. He’s really getting to the point where he’s going to be a very effective scorer anywhere in the lane.”
According to 247Sports, Brown is the No. 21 prospect in the class of 2018 and the No.2 center.
