Villanova new No. 1 in AP Top 25 after Michigan State loss; West Virginia jumps to No. 2

Following Michigan State’s loss to Ohio State, Villanova reemerged as the No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 poll, with West Virginia at No. 2.

On top of Michigan State’s loss on Sunday, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Xavier and Louisville were among the teams that lost on Saturday. Duke, UNC and Kentucky lost on the same day as ranked teams for the first time since 1997.

Duke fell to No. 7 from No. 2, while North Carolina and Kentucky fell to Nos. 20 and 21, respectively.

The Big East placed four teams in the poll, including No. 1 Villanova, No. 10 Xavier, No. 13 Seton Hall and No. 25 Creighton.
