Scotty Pippen Jr., the 6-foot-1 point guard from Sierra Canyon (CA) High School and son of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2017 La Canada Holiday Classic on Dec. 16, following Sierra Canyon’s 81-76 defeat of Damien (CA) High School in the championship game.
“I think I played well, got my teammates involved,” said Pippen following the game. “It was a good win to get our first championship.”
Pippen, who spent his first couple years of high school at Pine Crest (FL) School, transferred to Sierra Canyon this past summer, prior to his junior year. Despite only being with the team for a short time, Pippen already has lofty goals.
“Individually and as a team, I just want to win a state championship, win CIF,” said Pippen.
In terms of his recruitment, Pippen is yet to receive a college offer. “Hopefully this year I will receive some offers,” said Pippen.
Pippen told ZAGSBLOG back in August that he hopes to receive an offer from UCLA. He also mentioned that FAU was beginning to show interest.
The 2019 point guard also spoke about being the son of an NBA legend, as he said, “Well, it’s a lot of pressure, but I think I’m used to it.”
